In this installment of The Church Basement Ladies series, the year is 1964. The township is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee and the men are making some repairs in the church kitchen. We meet Roger the furnace salesman; Arlo, an old war vet; and Elroy, the local John Deere dealer. Beverly has graduated from High School and is off at camp. Karin suffers from empty nest syndrome and loses her mother’s ring. Mavis is in menopause, and Pastor questions his purpose. Join VISTA for more hilarious antics from the series and characters you’ve come to know and love!

GIRLS DAY IN WISCONSIN!
We begin by traveling to Milwaukee to enjoy a traditional German lunch at the famous Mader’s Restaurant, followed by a 90 minute narrated history & architecture cruise around Milwaukee where we will explore Milwaukee’s past and present. **Next, we will travel to the Milwaukee Pretzel Company Factory, for a live production tour of their authentic Bavarian soft pretzel making facility, ending with a sampling of their product!** Finally, we will enjoy a lively tour and dinner at Lakefront Brewery. Touted as “America’s favorite Brewery Tour”, this energetic tour will keep you laughing, while sampling some of their beverages! Dinner will be a traditional Wisconsin Fish Fry with all the fixins! After a full day we will relax at our hotel for the duration of the trip, the Country Inn and Suites in Germantown.
Day 2 begins with an included breakfast before heading to the charming village of Cedarburg, WI. Consistently ranked as a favorite small town getaway by visitors, Cedarburg’s natural beauty provides the perfect setting for a day of shopping and exploration of the city’s arts community. The downtown area is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, with over 100 buildings considered historically significant. Our first stop will be at Covered Bridge Park to view the last remaining historic covered wooden bridge in Wisconsin. The rest of the day is free from planned activities allowing you to enjoy downtown Cedarburg anyway you wish—shop in their boutiques, spend time in the coffee shops, have lunch in one of their quaint restaurants or visit their museums. Later that evening we will stop at the Relish Supper Club for a traditional Wisconsin Supper Club experience.
Day 3 takes us to the O&H Kringle Factory following breakfast. For four generations this company has made traditional Danish Kringles with the time honored techniques from Old Denmark. Then it’s on to the Mars Cheese Castle for shopping—stock up on cheese, sausage, wine, souvenirs, and much more! Next, we will visit the Boat House Restaurant for lunch, a charming restaurant nestled in the heart of Kenosha Harbor. Finally, we will stop to view the lighthouses at Simmons Island Park before continuing on our journey home.
