Forrest City Treasures
Vista Club - Bloomington - Forrest City Treasures
Splendor awaits in some of the treasures scattered through "The Forest City." We begin our day in Rockford at the Anderson Japanese Gardens. This peaceful oasis lies conveniently along the Rock River featuring tranquil beauty around every turn. A guide will take us through the gardens as they describe the beauty that is spread throughout this location. Following our time at the gardens, we will travel to Shogun Restaurant to dine. Watch as these master chefs prepare your meal in front of us. The Forest City Queen is next on our agenda. Enjoy a leisurely boat ride as we travel down the Rock River to learn more about the beauty that lies along the River as well as some history of Rockford. Another beautiful treasure is the newly renovated Coronado Theater. This spectacular performing arts center is considered the crown jewel of Rockford. On our guided tour, we will view many of the behind-the-scenes rooms, learn about the Van Matre-Owners Art Deco Apartment circa 1927, hear the Grande Barton Theater organ played, and much more. And last but not least, what would a Vista Club trip be without chocolates. We will finish our day at a Gourmet Chocolate Bar and enjoy a delectable Chocolate Torte. Don't forget your wallet! There are many other wonderful delights which can be purchased for the ride home.
